Delegate Days are designed for organisations needing to train small numbers of employees and for individuals looking to gain an overview of disability equality issues.

In order to ensure thats as an organisation, or as an individual you have a greater understanding of Disability Equality, we have developed two training days, Disability Equality and the Disability Discrimination Act and The Disability Discrimination Act and Disability Equality Duty.

Disability Equality & Disability Discrimination Act

A one day workshop for those wishing to equip themselves with an understanding of the Social/ Medical Model debate and the principles of Independent Living, whilst gaining an overview of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995. Following the session you will be able to answer questions such as:

♦What are the rights and entitlements for disabled people?

♦How are disabled people represented in the media?

♦What is it that disables people in society?

♦What does the Disability Discrimination Act cover?

What is the correct language & terminology to use?

Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) & Disability Equality Duty (DED)

This training is open to anyone who has an interest in finding out more about the legislation. The aim is to give attendees a greater understanding of the Disability Discrimination Act in general, and specifically;

♦Differences between the DDA and DED
