Essex Unite Blog

Essex Unite is a unique work experience and training programme for disabled people in Essex. It is being run in partnership with ecdp and MITIE and is funded by JobCentre Plus. Here you can follow the progress the 16 ‘Essex Uniters’ make during the 8 week programme and beyond!

Today is the final day of the Essex Unite training week.

This morning we welcomed back Oli and Ruth from MITIE to continue our Essex Unite training. They started the day asking the Essex Uniters to recap their week so far. The group could choose any way to do this, but they were asked to be as creative as possible!

On the third day of Essex Unite, the Uniters visited the places they will be working for the next six weeks.

On the second day of Essex Unite - the unique employment programme ecdp and MITIE are running to support disabled people in Essex to get back into work - we welcomed trainers Oli and Ruth from MITIE.

Today saw the launch of ecdp’s unique work experience and training programme for disabled people. 15 people - some who have been out of work since acquiring an impairment, others who have newly finished their education and who have never worked before - attended the first day of training, here at ecdp’s offices.
