ecdp Works success: John's story
John Mason, an ecdp Works graduate, began working at Greenfield’s Community Housing in October 2012.
John suffered a head injury during a football match over 30 years ago, and decided to gain work place skills through the ecdp Works programme run by ecdp.
In partnership with Jobcentre Plus and the private sector group MITIE, ecdp delivers this unique work experience training programme, which is designed to offer unemployed disabled individuals the opportunity to participate in meaningful work placements to give them the drive, experience and confidence needed to get into paid employment.
Julie Breed, Head of HR at Greenfield’s said ‘We took part (in ecdp Works) because we want to help unemployed disabled people to gain confidence and to increase their chances of being employed in the future’.
Now, John is ready for the future. He says ‘Working at Greenfield’s is like a dream come true for me.’
