Essex County Council wanted to consult with the public because they are planning to re-commission a formal advocacy service in 2014. They wanted to make sure that re-commissioned services are targeted at the people that have the greatest need and proposed to introduce a ‘prioritisation tool’. This would be used by providers to make sure that people who need it can have access to formal advocacy services.

The report sets out the findings, how feedback has informed the plans of Essex County Council and what they aim to do next.
