ecdp announcement: Bob Jamieson
It is with deep sadness that ecdp announces Bob Jamieson, an original founding member of ecdp, has passed away.
Bob was a Board Trustee at ecdp for many years and played a key role in our move to Ivan Peck House. As you will know when he stepped down from the Board we named a room in the office after him in recognition of his achievements.
Bob was extremely well known in Essex as an active disability campaigner. He was heavily involved in direct payments and individual budgets and was a Director of the Liberation Partnership when it oversaw all the individual budget pilots.
Bob drew on his lived experience and was particular, vociferous and articulate on issues concerned with education and residential care. Last summer he was at ecdp as part of the Who Will Care commission focus group for disabled people.
ecdp will ensure Bob’s legacy lives on by continuing to support disabled people to have greater choice, control and independence.
Thursday 07 July 2016 is THE BIG HEALTH DAY from 10am to 3pm.
Disability Essex provided advice, support and a place to socialise for disabled people, their families and carers since 1949 but has closed due to financial difficulties.
