ecdp and Barclays jointly host mental health briefing for local businesses
On 08 May 2014, ecdp and Barclays joined forces to deliver their second event to local businesses.
1 in 4 people will experience some kind of mental health problem in the course of a year. ecdp has a track record in promoting employment opportunities for people experiencing mental health problems in Essex.
Participants on 08 May discovered more about ecdp Works, a bespoke six week work placement programme which supports businesses to employ people with mental health conditions confidently. ecdp delivers ecdp Works, offering unemployed disabled individuals the opportunity to participate in meaningful work placements and improve their confidence and well-being as a concrete pathway to permanent employment.

The event included lived experience testimonials from Craig Muckley, Relationship Director, Barclays, and ecdp Works participants Leanne Morley and Catherine Turner. Vickie Bond, Welfare Consultant, Essex Police, spoke about why Essex Police support their employees, and the business benefits this best practice brings. Vickie also spoke about the ecdp Works programme from an employers’ point of view, and why Essex Police have committed to supporting the next cohort.
Thursday 07 July 2016 is THE BIG HEALTH DAY from 10am to 3pm.
Disability Essex provided advice, support and a place to socialise for disabled people, their families and carers since 1949 but has closed due to financial difficulties.
