Minister of State for Disabled People to visit Essex based Disability Organisation
ecdp is delighted to announce that on 10 July 2014 the Minister of State for Disabled People the Rt Hon Mike Penning MP will be visiting our Chelmsford based offices.
As a Disabled People’s User-Led Organisation (DPULO), ecdp welcomes this opportunity to showcase the work we do, supporting disabled people to have independence, choice and control over their lives.
ecdp will formally be launching the corporate strand of our ecdp Works programme, to coincide with this Ministerial visit. ecdp Works is an award-winning combination of training, work experience and personalised support for disabled jobseekers. ecdp Works embodies the principles of the Disability Employment and Health Strategy: it is personalised, localised, comprehensive and user-led.
This new strand of the programme will utilise corporate sponsorship and create new partnerships between the private, public and voluntary sector. Guest speakers at this event include Ian Drysdale, HR Director for Essex and Kent Police, and Alan Maunder from FTSE 250 strategic outsourcing company, Mitie.
Mike Penning MP will lead a discussion with local businesses about the importance of being Disability Confident, following the campaign by the Department for Work and Pensions.
Thursday 07 July 2016 is THE BIG HEALTH DAY from 10am to 3pm.
Disability Essex provided advice, support and a place to socialise for disabled people, their families and carers since 1949 but has closed due to financial difficulties.
