Changes to the Care Act - Information Event on Wednesday 22 April in Southend
The Care Act represents the most significant reform of care and support in nearly 70 years, with wide-reaching implications for carers and carers’ services.
Southend Carers Forum in partnership with Southend Council and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) are holding an information event on 22 April 2015 starting at 10am at SAVS, Alexandra Street, Southend-on-Sea SS1 1BW to help answer your questions regarding the Care Act and the introduction of Universal Credits.
The day will consist of a series of talks from Sarah Baker (Care Act Programme Manager), Matthew Mint (Strategy and Commissioning Manager for Older People, Carers and People with Physical and Sensory Impairments) and the local DWP officer. Followed by question and answer sessions, giving people the opportunity to ask the questions that really matter.
Representatives from Southend Citizens Advice Bureau will also be on hand to help answer any additional questions people may have with the opportunity to book one to one sessions on the day.
Places for this information event are limited so contact Southend Carers Forum as soon as possible!
